$3.5 MILLION EXPANSION GIVES MORE GUESTS TIME IN THE SHADE

The Aurora Shady Glen Tourist Park in Darwin is expanding, with the site recently undergoing upgrades to meet the demand for short and long-term accommodation in the growing areas of the Northern Territory.
The tourist park is under new ownership, with new operators Aurora Hotels and Resorts, and their partners, investing more than $3.5 million on upgrades and infrastructure in the last 18 months.
The upgrades include 40 new self-contained cabins – with another 32 cabins recently approved for development – a new camp kitchen, upgrade to the reception area, ablutions, powered site area and extensive landscaping.
The tourist park offers quality, affordable short and long-term accommodation with easy access to Darwin, Palmerston and Casuarina.
Aurora’s Group General Manager ,Tony Quatermass, says the new owners are very excited about Darwin’s future and have invested in the tourist park to position the facility to take advantage of the new growth that the Northern Territory will experience.
“Aurora Shady Glen has been very popular with the industrial contractor and staff accommodation placements,” says Tony.
“As the closest tourist park to the CBD of Darwin, it’s in an incredibly convenient location – and also centrally located to Palmerston, Casuarina and Winnellie.
“We have accommodation to suit all budgets and requirements, with budget rooms available, new studio cabins, new one bedroom cabins and two bedroom villas,” Tony explains.
“It’s a beautiful setting – a relaxed and tranquil environment with all the amenities you would need. Guests can enjoy a meal in the landscaped gardens with barbeque area, or cool down after a long day with a swim in the pool.”
The Aurora Shady Glen Tourist Park provides easy access for vehicle parking next to the self-contained cabins and villas.
Close to regular public transport to central Darwin, and with the local tavern, golf course and shopping centre on your doorstep, the Aurora Shady Glen Tourist Park is the perfect place to explore Darwin or as your home away from home while working in the Northern Territory.
